The No. 3 Oregon Ducks will open the 2024-25 College Football season against Idaho on Saturday, August 31, as one of the newest members of the Big Ten.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. ET on The Big Ten Network. Fans looking to watch this college football game can do so for free on FuboTV, which offers a free trial (as well as RedZone, for you NFL fans) or on DirecTV Stream, which also offers a free trial. SlingTV has promotional offers available, as well.
The Ducks moved to the Big Ten this season after last summer’s dissolution of the Pac-12. Oregon went 12-2 last season, losing to rivals Washington in the Pac-12 championship game before beating Liberty in the Fiesta Bowl. Quarterback Bo Nix, drafted by the Denver Broncos, has been replaced by Oklahoma transfer Dillon Gabriel. Last year he threw for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns, with just six interceptions, at Oklahoma.
Idaho was picked to finish third in the conference in both the Big Sky coaches and media polls. The Vandals went 9-4 last season and advanced to the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs before losing to Albany. Idaho also has a new quarterback debuting Saturday in Jack Layne — an Oregon native — after last year’s starter Gevani McCoy transferred to Oregon State.
