A 68-year-old man from Oregon was arrested at the beginning of the month in the 1979 killing and rape of a 24-year-old Boston woman, the Boston Police Department announced on Monday.
John Michael Irmer, of Portland, Oregon, was arrested on a warrant from Boston Municipal Court for the aggravated rape and killing of Susan Marcia Rose on Oct. 30, 1979, the department said. He is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday, Sept. 11.
