One person died in a single-car crash on Route 140 in Wrentham on Thursday, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office confirmed.
Wrentham police posted on Facebook to warn drivers that Route 140 was closed between Creek and Elysium Streets as a result of the crash shortly before 6 p.m. The police department expects the road to remain closed until approximately 8 p.m. as local and state police continue to investigate.
The crash happened near the intersection of Route 140 and Eagle Brook Boulevard, WCVB reported. No one but the driver was in the car at the time of the crash.
Photos of the crash show a heavily damaged white car on its side on the side of the road just before the tree line. It may have become airborne during the crash, as the guardrail nearby is unbroken.
No further information has been released.
