Oktoberfest brings music, beer to Three County Fairgrounds

Not all Oktoberfests are aimed at families.

Saturday’s Oktoberfest Massachusetts on the Three County Fairgrounds is strictly or adults ages 21 and older.

Hours are noon to 5 p.m.

Performers include Friday Beers, DJ Press Play, Caye, Costa, Chucky Blizz, Double Vizion, and Rooster.

Beer lover will have plenty to choose from with four beers on tap including UFO Pumpkin, Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest, Wormtown Be Hoppy, and Bud Light. Beer by the can will include Shock Top, Yuengling Light and Lager, and Corona Extra. There will also be specialty drinks from Fresca Mixed featuring the citrus taste of Fresca soda mixed with spirits such as vodka and tequila.

There also will be a food truck on site with all kinds of treats.

Vendors include UMass Ski n Board of the UMass Amherst Student Organization; Tuck Life selling hats, t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts; Noct. 161, clothing pieces made from upcycle vintage and thrift materials; Third Shift Fabrication, handcrafted décor for home an business; Smack Hats/MargoMakesStuff, handmade crochet hats an imaginatory art; Midbloom, lifestyle and skate clothing; and Cape Cod Laserworks, handmade décor.

Oktoberfest officials believe drinking and driving do not mix and there is no parking allowed onsite or the surrounding streets. They ask people to arrive via Uber, Lyft, PVTA, taxi, other form of sober drop-off or on their shuttles. Shuttles to the Three County Fairgrounds run from The Spoke Amherst at 35 E Pleasant St., Amherst, from 11:40 a.m. to1:40 p.m. and back from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Shuttle schedule subject to change based on demand.

Tickets, priced at $40 with a $4.52 fee, are available online through Oct. 13.

Special VIP tickets are $65 with $6.21 in fees and offer express entry, a welcome beverage, an Oktoberfest stein, VIP bar, enhanced restrooms, elevated viewing platform, shaded lounge area, exclusive lawn games, concierge desk, festival wristband, and a premium location.
