HOLYOKE ― Amilyan Treadwell-Mercedes reached 1000 career points during Friday’s game between No. 20 Holyoke girls basketball and No. 4 Springfield International.
Treadwell-Mercedes had a team-high 16 points for the Purple Knights, reaching the milestone early in the third quarter after sinking a shot from the free throw line. The senior was quickly mobbed by her teammates, family and friends rushing onto the court as the hometown crowd erupted with joy, celebrating her moment on the Purple Knights’ Senior Night.
