No. 10 Westfield upends No. 7 Woburn in D3 football state tournament opener, 34-21

WOBURN – The Westfield High School football team had two key holding penalties kill scoring drives, an offensive pass interference penalty nullify a big catch, a roughing-the-kicker penalty extend a drive for the opposition, and gave up three touchdowns of 59 yards or greater … and still won by two scores in the opening round of the state tournament.

No. 10 Westfield overcame mistakes and injuries in a Division 3 football Sweet 16 state playoff game to knock off seventh-seeded Woburn Memorial, 34-21, Friday on the road.
