Week 10 featured six teams winning by virtue of a walk-off field goal.
The Cleveland, Houston, Arizona, Detroit, Seattle and Denver all had last second field goals to come away victorious.
Riley Patterson settled a shootout in Los Angeles by drilling a 41-yarder with two seconds to go, as the Lions took down the Chargers 41-38. Wil Lutz got a second try after a miss thanks to a Buffalo penalty, but he eventually delivered the game winner of the Bills Monday night.
Houston’s Matt Amendola, Cleveland’s Dustin Hopkins, Arizona’s Matt Prater and Seattle’s Jason Myers also had game-winning kicks to help their respective teams walk off with wins.
Beyond all that excitement, C.J. Stroud fever continues to grow in Houston, and around the NFL, with the rookie quarterback leading the Texans upset of the Bengals. And, if the season ended today, they would be a wild card team.
Meanwhile, Week 10 also saw the return of Kyler Murray. The Ravens, Bengals and Jaguars also saw winning streaks come to an end.
As for the Patriots, Germany was the latest disaster for Mac Jones & Co.
Here’s the Power Rankings heading into Week 11
1. Philadelphia Eagles (8-1): It’s been 49 years since an NFC team lost in the Super Bowl, and returned the following year. The Eagles look like they might be the next to accomplish the mission.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (7-2): The most attention-getting Chiefs bye week story? Travis Kelce’s trek to Argentina to watch girlfriend Taylor Swift perform.
3. Detroit Lions (7-2): Dan Campbell knew he had to be aggressive to take down the Chargers. Going five times on fourth down, converting four of those, did the trick.
4. Baltimore Ravens (7-3): With the Ravens losing, the AFC North race just got real interesting with both the Browns and Steelers now breathing down their necks.
5. Miami Dolphins (6-3): No doubt Mike McDaniel spent the bye week figuring out how the Fins can rise above and beat the best.
6. San Francisco 49ers (6-3): After three straight losses, they finally stopped the bleeding. They knocked the stuffing out of the Jaguars.
7. Dallas Cowboys (6-3): Not much to glean with them beating up on the hapless, helpless Giants.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3): Not the best sign getting manhandled by the Niners all day long in the trenches. Also not the best sign having Trevor Lawrence commit three turnovers.
9. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3): They continue to win even though Kenny Pickett has failed to make the desired second-year leap.
10. Cleveland Browns (6-3): Deshaun Watson was a mess in the first half. But he fought back against the Ravens, and was money when it counted.
11. Houston Texans (5-4): Amazing what having a good quarterback can do. Rookie C.J. Stroud continues to be unfazed by the stage, or the opponent.
12. Minnesota Vikings (6-4): Two straight wins without Kirk Cousins. Kevin O’Connell is slowly creeping into the Coach of the Year discussions.
13. Cincinnati Bengals (5-4): They were hit by a freight train named C.J. Stroud, and didn’t see it coming.
14. Seattle Seahawks (6-3): Ugly wins still count. And Pete Carroll will certainly take it, especially with the schedule that lies ahead.
15. Buffalo Bills (5-5): Too many men on the field to give the Broncos another chance at a game-winning field goal? Four turnovers?
16. LA Chargers (4-5): Justin Herbert threw four touchdown passes, brought the Chargers back time and again against the Lions. If only he had a defense. And a head coach with a clue.
17. Indianapolis Colts (5-5): It seems a bit smoke and mirror-like, but the Colts are still in the AFC South race.
18. Las Vegas Raiders (5-5): They’re 2-0 under Antonio Pierce. Or 2-0 post-Josh McDaniels. They have the look and feel of a completely different team.
19. Tampa Bay Bucs (4-5): After their defense was embarrassed by C.J. Stroud last week, they weren’t about to let Will Levis do the same.
20. New Orleans Saints (5-5): At least Jameis Winston provided some excitement after Derek Carr left the game with a right shoulder injury/concussion.
21. Denver Broncos (4-5): It took two tries for the game-winning field goal, but they’ll take it. Back-to-back wins over KC and Buffalo has Sean Payton’s team on the rebound.
22. New York Jets (4-5): What do Zach Wilson and Mac Jones have in common? Huge mistakes. Whoppers in the big moments. Aaron Rodgers can’t come back soon enough for Gang Green.
23. Washington Commanders (4-6): They traded their two best pass rushers at the deadline. They felt that void in the final minute against the Seahawks.
24. Atlanta Falcons (4-6): Add them to the list of teams that need a quarterback. Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke aren’t the answer.
25. Tennessee Titans (3-6): For the third time this season, the offense failed to score a touchdown. Watching Derrick Henry gain just 24 yards on 11 carries was stunning.
26. Green Bay Packers (3-6): Shouldn’t Jordan Love, who waited his turn apprenticing under Aaron Rodgers, be better than he’s shown by now?
27. LA Rams (3-6): The expectation is for Matthew Stafford to return from his thumb injury after the bye. Why else would they cut Brett Rypien, who started in his place last week?
28. Chicago Bears (3-7): By beating the Panthers Thursday night, they pulled off the win-win scenario. Since they own the Panthers first pick in the 2024 draft, they helped their cause.
29. Arizona Cardinals (2-8): Welcome back, Kyler Murray. After missing the past year, that was quite the show.
30. New England Patriots (2-8): Team owner Robert Kraft was hoping for a ‘reset’ with a win in Germany. What he got instead was more of the same.
31. New York Giants (2-8): Coach of the Year last year. Coach of a train wreck this year. Welcome to Brian Daboll’s world.
32. Carolina Panthers (1-8): The good news? Bryce Young avoided throwing another pick-six or interception against the Bears. The bad? He still doesn’t look the part of an NFL franchise quarterback.
