Another dry and seasonable day is on tap for Massachusetts on Tuesday, with highs in the mid-70s.
There is a chance for some spot showers overnight along the South Coast, but any rain that does fall is unlikely to be widespread or significant, National Weather Service forecasters wrote. Temperatures overnight should dip to the high 40s or low 50s.
More rain is on the way Wednesday, with isolated showers throughout the day. Those showers are expected to stay south of Interstate 90 for most of the day, but there is a small chance some rain could move farther north, according to the weather service.
The chance for rain increases as Wednesday turns into Thursday, with the area south and east of Interstate 84 most likely to see showers. Still, widespread soaking rains are not expected, forecasters wrote.
A cold front is still expected to move through the region Friday afternoon and evening, leaving in its path cooler and drier conditions than earlier in the week. Saturday will feel more “autumn-like,” with high temperatures mostly in the 60s, forecasters wrote.
But the cool-down won’t last long, with temperatures expected to climb at the start of next week.
