New Puttshack in Mass. is more than just a mini golf course, it’s a destination

Now that Puttshack’s second location in Massachusetts is open in Natick, there’s a new place to get drinks with colleagues after work or play mini golf with the kids.

The new Puttshack at the Natick Mall, which officially opened to the public on Saturday, Feb. 10, is the company’s 12th location in the United States and 16th globally, according to a press release.

Joining its Boston Seaport location that opened in October 2022, Puttshack Natick replaced what used to be American Girl in a space next to Cheesecake Factory at the MetroWest mall. American Girl closed in 2019.

Spanning 22,000 square feet over two floors, Puttshack Natick offers three nine-hole mini golf courses. Players can focus on their strokes while Puttshack’s patented Trackaball technology keeps score.

The courses feature dozens of unique holes designed after popular games such as beer pong, True or False and Pac-Man. Unique to the Natick location is the Slam Dunk hole, which has a robotic basketball player that tries to swipe players’ strokes away from the hole. In addition, the venue’s courses are ADA-accessible.

Puttshack Natick also has a full-service bar on each floor with creative cocktails like the Spiced Pineapple Mezcal Margarita, smokey Porn Star Martini and Breaking Bad Pisco Punch that is served inside of a miniature treasure chest with a blue popsicle.

Meanwhile, the not-your-average bar bites on the dietary-inclusive menu include the Boston Tailpipe — spring rolls filled with lobster mac ‘n cheese — and the Reuben Flatbread — with shaved corned beef and Swiss cheese. Puttshack Natick will donate $1 from each Tailpipe sold to the New England Center for Children.

“Puttshack Natick is more than a mini golf course – it’s a destination where technology, food, and fun intersect to create unforgettable experiences,” said Puttshack President Dave Diamond in a press release. “We’re thrilled to bring our unique combination of high-tech mini golf and upscale entertainment to suburban Boston.”

With an outdoor patio and semi-private room, guests can reserve part of Puttshack’s space for private events. The venue is family-friendly during the day and switches over to 21-plus after 8 p.m.

The new Puttshack is located at 1245 Worcester St. in Natick and is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
