The space of a popular Boston nightclub has been transformed into a tropically inspired cocktail lounge celebrating the sounds, styles and tastes of 1950s Havana.
My Girl, which took over Mariel Underground that closed back in June, made its debut at the start of December.
The underground lounge and social club is the latest venture from COJE Management Group, which oversees several concepts, including Yvonne’s, Coquette, Caveau and Mr. H.
Tucked beneath Mariel at 10 Post Office Square, My Girl is almost a complete 180 from its former space. Concrete walls have been painted gold as an homage to Cuba’s golden age while Art Deco accents and comfortable seating further create a warm and welcoming environment.

“We wanted to create a space that feels alive and deeply connected,” COJE CEO & Managing Partner Chris Jamison said in a press release. “The food and beverages are exceptional, but what makes My Girl different is the energy — the sound in the room, the rhythm that builds as the evening unfolds. It’s the soul of Havana, the pulse of Boston, and the unmistakable energy our guests expect from us – vibrant, spontaneous and unforgettable.”
My Girl’s food menu features a selection of shareable dishes with highlights including Wagyu Steak Carpaccio with smoked shoyu and wasakaka, Tuna Puffs paired with chilled Demon Slayer gazpacho shots and the Infidel Caesar, which is a fun nod to the short-lived 1962 Broadway musical reimagined with miso-Caesar dressing and hot sesame crumbs.

Meanwhile the drink menu consists of the tropical sips including the Caribbean Bramble with jerk pineapple and classics such as the Old Fashioned with caramelized banana and zero-proof “Soft Seductions.”
What hasn’t changed is energetic music. My Girl will showcase a range of live performances, from piano sets to touring artists and late-night DJs.
My Girl is open starting at 6 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday. Reservations can be made online.
