While many locals may know Neil’s Donuts for its unique doughnut flavors and creative coffee combinations, it’s the Connecticut bakery’s bagels that recently received top praise from Yelp.
The food review site included Neil’s Donuts on its list of the “Top 50 Bagel Spots in the US and Canada according to Yelp Elites.”
As the only New England establishment on the list, Yelp praised Neil’s Donuts for its freshly baked bagels that are “known for their chewy texture and satisfying flavor.”
“Customers rave about the wide variety of classic flavors such as plain, everything, sesame, and poppy, alongside a generous selection of homemade cream cheeses and classic bagel sandwiches,” Yelp wrote. “While Neil’s is famous for its donuts, their bagels hold their own as a tasty breakfast staple or a perfect grab-and-go option any time of day.”
Founded in 2001, Neils Donuts has locations in Wallingford and Middletown, Connecticut. The bakery serves danishes, muffins, breakfast sandwiches and other baked goods in addition to doughnuts and bagels.
Neils Donuts’ Wallingford shop has a 4.8 out of 5-star rating on Yelp while the Middletown shop is rated 4.3 out of 5.
