SOUTHWICK — For years, the town’s Economic Development Commission has operated with a relatively low profile, but after several new appointments and the election of a new chair, but that’s going to change.
“We’re building a foundation of what could be an economic development commission that stimulate healthy economic growth with maintaining the rural character of the community and sustaining the town’s agricultural legacy” said Inga Hotaling Washington, the commission’s newly elected chair.
It was clear when the Select Board was choosing new appointees for the commission in mid-August that one board member, Diane Gale, wanted new blood on the commission.
