Eight people on the town of Milford’s payroll earned more than $200,000 last year, according to payroll data, with the town spending just over $92.7 million on payroll for public employees.

Most of the top 100 earners in 2024 were members of the town’s police and fire departments, public school system employees or appointed town officials, according to payroll data.

Employees on the town’s payroll made $50,600 on average.

The town’s highest earner in 2024 was Deputy Police Chief John Sanchioni, who made $167,799 in regular pay and $99,842 in overtime, for a total of $267,641.

The second highest earner was police Sgt. Kara Maguire, who made $228,384, with $155,046 in base pay and $73,338 in overtime.

The town of Milford spent a total of $3.98 million on overtime pay in 2024, according to payroll data. Four employees made more than $80,000 in overtime, all of whom were from the police department.

School Superintendent Kevin McIntyre was the highest earning non-police employee, placing fourth overall and making $223,996 in base pay.

The highest earning appointed town official was Town Administrator Richard Villani, who made $191,564 in base pay and placed 13th overall.

Deputy Fire Chief Michael DeTore was the town’s highest paid fire department employee, making $159,400 in base pay and $24,969 in overtime, for a total of $184,369.
