Milford Regional Medical Center is pursuing a corporate affiliation with UMass Memorial Health, as the two organizations signed a non-binding letter of intent, UMass announced Wednesday.
A news release from UMass cited “the lasting impacts of the pandemic and sustained financial losses” as factoring into the Milford facility’s exploration of the affiliation.
Milford Regional President and CEO Edward Kelly said the corporate affiliation would “make it possible for us to move forward with necessary and strategic expansion, among other mutually beneficial opportunities, to continue to meet the growing needs of our community, locally.”
