Massive winter festival returning to Boston area with new attractions

A massive winter festival is coming back to the Boston area with a revamped lineup of activities.

Winter Fest 2025 will take over The Yard at Hood Park in Charlestown starting Saturday, Dec. 6.

After making its debut in 2024, Winter Fest is set to return with a refreshed layout and new attractions. In addition to an Après ski-themed lounge, ice castle and gingerbread house, this year’s festival will feature carnival-style arcade games, a Ferris wheel and an expanded winter market with multiple local vendors and experiences such as face painting.

“After years of producing some of Boston’s most beloved large-scale events, it’s been an exciting process to take Winter Fest to the next level,” Giancarlo Natale, founder of the Boston Pizza Festival and event director of Winter Fest, said in a press release. “We’ve reimagined the experience to showcase local food and beverage favorites, interactive family activities, rides and unique shops all designed to capture the spirit of Boston in a truly festive way.”

The grounds at Winter Fest will also be adorned with dazzling holiday lights, with festive music playing throughout the space.

Tickets are $7.22 (with fees) and can be purchased online via Eventbrite. Families can also bring their children to visit Santa for $38.42 (with fees) per group.

Winter Fest will run from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 6-7, 12-14 and 19-30. The festival will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Dec. 24-25).

Parking at Hood Park is free for up to three hours. The address for Winter Fest is 100 Hood Park Drive, Boston.
