A 40-year-old Chicopee woman was killed late Wednesday night in Hartford when she was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene and was later found engulfed in flames, police said.
Lutricia Daniels was hit by a red Honda Accord on Main Street in Hartford near Tower Avenue around 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Hartford police said in a statement. When officers arrived, they found Daniels had sustained “severe” injuries. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda fled south on Main Street after hitting Daniels and was later found by Connecticut State Police engulfed in flames and unoccupied on Interstate 384 eastbound, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by Hartford police.
