Massachusetts lottery player wins $25,000 a year for life on Tuesday

A lottery player in Massachusetts won $25,000 a year for life in the multi-state “Lucky for Life” drawing on Tuesday — the second lifelong prize won from the game in the Bay State in just over a week.

The winning numbers for the “Lucky for Life” drawing on Oct. 3, were 3, 11, 16 ,18, 33 and Lucky Ball: 1.

The player who won the $25,000 a year for life prize had bought their winning ticket in East Boston from an Eagle Hill Convenience Store. Their ticket matched the first five numbers drawn, but did not match the Lucky Ball to win the grand prize of $7,000 a week for life.

This was the second $25,000 a year for life prize won in Massachusetts from the game in just over a week.

On Sunday, Sept. 24, another lottery player in the state won the annual prize after buying their winning ticket in Holliston from a shop called Country Farm. The winning numbers were 6, 25, 26, 28, 31 and Lucky Ball: 17, and both prizes have yet to be claimed as of Oct. 4.

Additionally, a $100,000 lottery prize was claimed on Tuesday from the scratch ticket game called “$15,000,000 Money Maker.” It was bought in Mattapan from a shop called Sam’s Market.

Overall, there were at least 586 lottery prizes worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts on Tuesday, including 17 in Springfield and 33 in Worcester.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of all the winning tickets each day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

The two largest lottery prizes won in the state of Massachusetts so far in 2023 were $33 million and $31 million Mega Millions jackpot prizes. The tickets were each sold a week apart.

The $33 million ticket for the Tuesday, Jan. 24 drawing was purchased from a Stop & Shop in Belchertown. The winner came forward to claim the prize on March 1 through the Skylark Group Trust.

The $31 million Mega Millions jackpot ticket was won on Jan. 31. The winning ticket was bought in Woburn from a Gibbs gas station, and the winner claimed the prize on March 8 through S & L Trust.
