A lottery player in Massachusetts used their extra day in February this year to claim a $1 million lottery prize, leaving just one grand prize left in the game.
The $1 million prize was from the lottery’s “50X Cash” scratch ticket game, which costs $5 per ticket to play. The player came forward on Feb. 29 to claim their prize.
The scratch ticket game was released on June 13, 2023. It has just one $1 million grand prize remaining to be claimed as of March 1.
The winning $1 million ticket was sold from a 7-Eleven convenience store located in Hanover.
Overall, there were at least 544 lottery prizes worth $600 or more won or claimed in Massachusetts on Thursday, including 10 in Springfield and 27 in Worcester.
The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.
So far, the two largest lottery prizes won in the state of Massachusetts in 2024 were two $4 million prizes. One was claimed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, and the other was claimed on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
