
A Freetown woman was killed in a single-car crash in Dartmouth early Saturday morning, according to a statement from the Massachusetts State Police.
Troopers responded to reports of a crash at 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 195 east at mile marker 21.
When they arrived, they found the driver, identified as Crystal Mullens, 36, of Freetown, trapped under the car, according to the statement. The Dartmouth Fire Department and emergency medical services went to the scene to extricate Mullens. She died of her injuries at the scene, according to the statement.
“We offer our condolences to the loved ones of the victim,” State Police said.
A passenger in the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed shortly after the crash occurred and reopened to regular traffic shortly after 6 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
