Mass. woman arrested after N.H. police said she drove wrong way on I-93 drunk

A Lowell woman was charged after New Hampshire state police said she drove the wrong way while drunk on Interstate 93 on Sunday night.

Around 10:45 p.m., a New Hampshire state trooper saw a car traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-93, near Exit 1 in Salem, police said.

The trooper drove on the northbound side, parallel to the car driving the wrong way, police said. The trooper then used a crossover and stopped the driver near Exit 2.

The driver, Deirdre Masi, 49, was charged with driving while intoxicated – subsequent offense, reckless conduct – deadly weapon, reckless driving and criminal threatening, police said.

Masi was held at the Rockingham County Department of Corrections, police said. She was arraigned in Salem District Court.
