Mass. weather: Warmer temps across state could bring rain

Massachusetts is in for mild weather on Tuesday, with some sunshine and moderate temperatures throughout the region.

The National Weather Service forecasts another day of above-freezing temperatures, with most of the state expected to see highs in the mid to low 40s, and the Berkshires getting into the high 30s. Those temps will be accompanied by gentle winds about 6 to 12 mph.

Low temperatures at night are expected to hang around the mid 30s for much of the state, dipping to 33 degrees in Pittsfield.

Clouds will gather in the evening, bringing a chance of rain showers in Central and Western Massachusetts. Light rain could begin after midnight; the National Weather Service forecast calls for a 50% chance of precipitation in Springfield and a 40% chance in Worcester.

There is a chance of overnight snow in the Berkshires, but any accumulation will be minimal.

Wednesday will bring similarly mild conditions, with slightly warmer temperatures and a chance of precipitation in the evening.
