Members of the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad responded Friday to Beverly after a person found a prop grenade and brought it to the town’s police station, local officials said.
The person had discovered the object while removing junk from their home, Beverley Police Chief John G. LeLacheur said in a statement.
He described the object as a “possible incendiary device,” but said it appeared to be “a training aid.” Out of caution, the department contacted the state police.
