A shooting in Brockton that left a woman and a boy hurt was not a random act of violence, Brockton police said Thursday.
At around 5:29 p.m. on Tuesday, police learned of a shooting at 229 Battles Farm Drive, according to a department statement.
Officers found a 17-year-old boy and a 67-year-old woman who were both shot, the statement read. Both received first aid from Brockton firefighters before a Brewster ambulance arrived. EMS then took them to a Boston hospital, where they are both recovering from their injuries.
Police ask the public to contact them if they have any information about the shooting.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. No further information about the shooting has been released.
