An obscure state board with the power to confirm the governor’s judicial appointments, pardons, and commutations saw some of the closest contested races in Tuesday’s state primary elections.
The Governor’s Council, typically a little-followed body, drew increased focus this year, particularly to a competitive Democratic primary for the council’s 3rd District seat between incumbent Marilyn Petitto Devaney and challenger Mara Dolan.
