A Massachusetts man was seriously injured in a snowmobile crash in New Hampshire last week, according to the state’s Fish and Game Department.
Conservation officers were notified of the crash on Jack-O-Lantern South Drive in Woodstock just before 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, the department said in a press release. They soon learned that 43-year-old Scituate resident Philip Chadwell had lost control of the snowmobile he was riding while crossing Route 3.
Chadwell injured his leg in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Littleton Regional Hospital, the department said. Chadwell was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and neither speed nor alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash.
“Conservation Officers would like to remind the snowmobiling public to always use caution while crossing paved roads. Always familiarize yourself with snowmobile operation before you ride and always wear a helmet,” the department wrote in the press release.
