Mass. man sentenced for possession of child sex abuse material, shotgun

A 60-year-old Sandisfield man was sentenced to 10 years in prison in federal court in Springfield on Thursday after he pleaded guilty to charges of possessing child sexual abuse materials and an unregistered gun, acting U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Joshua S. Levy’s office announced.

Brian Hohman will also serve 10 years of supervised release after his prison sentence is completed, Levy’s office said in a statement. In January, Hohman pleaded guilty to charges of possession of child pornography and receipt and possession of an unregistered firearm.

During a search of Hohman’s residence in September 2023, investigators discovered a sawed-off shotgun not registered to him, and a laptop with more than 300 “visually unique images,” and at least two videos depicting child sexual abuse. He was subsequently detained and arrested on an unrelated matter, according to Levy’s office. Investigators also found Hohman had two cell phones and a SIM card containing child sexual abuse materials.
