Mass. man ID’d after struck, killed by an SUV while crossing road on Tuesday night

A Braintree man who died on Tuesday after he was struck by an SUV while crossing a road in Randolph and died has been identified as Leonard McStevens, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey’s office said Wednesday.

At around 9:10 p.m., police learned of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of 650 Mazeo Drive along Route 139, Morrissey’s office said in a statement.

First responders took McStevens, 49, to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Morrissey’s office said.

A 28-year-old Canton man who drove the truck remained at the crash site and has not been charged, Morrissey’s office said.

Randolph police, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the MSP Crime Scene Services Section are investigating the crash.
