Mass. man found guilty of murdering missing woman found in marsh

A Lynn man was found guilty of first-degree murder after his girlfriend went missing and was later found dead in a marshy area in 2021.

Sherell Pringle, 40, of Woburn, died in December 2021 after family and friends reported her missing because they had not heard from her.

“My mother was a strong, independent woman, a dream chaser. I love my moms to death, now she’s gone,” said Pringle’s son, 19-year-old Jahmani Larionne in an interview with NECN.

She was remembered as a true leader and amazing mother in her obituary.

“She enjoyed spending time with her son Jahmani, family, and dog. She loved traveling, shopping and loved taking pictures. She enjoyed life. Our queen was a natural-born leader. She was very ambitious,” the obituary read.

She worked at Steward Medical Group in Watertown for more than 10 years.

A few days after she was reported missing, her boyfriend, Bruce Maiben, 44, of Lynn, was arrested and charged with murder in Lynn District Court.

He pleaded not guilty.

However, a jury found Maiben guilty of first-degree murder on Monday. He is expected to be sentenced in Essex County Superior Court in Salem on Wednesday afternoon.
