A 57-year-old man was flown to a hospital after being hit by a car while trying to cross the street in Bellingham Tuesday night, police said.
An officer “came upon” the crash near 40 North Main St. in Bellingham at around 9:42 p.m. Tuesday, police said in a statement. The officer immediately began life-saving measures on the man, who is believed to be from the Bellingham area.
The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital before being airlifted to a trauma center, police said. His condition is unknown.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The crash remains under investigation.
