Mass. man charged with murder in fatal stabbing of his mother’s boyfriend

A Middleborough man is facing a murder charge in connection with the fatal stabbing of his mother’s boyfriend Saturday evening, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced Sunday.

Andrew Horsman, 41, is accused of killing 66-year-old Paul Pomerleau during a fight at a Middleborough home, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office said in a press release.

Middleborough police responded to reports of a stabbing at 19 Fairview St. shortly after 8 p.m. and found Pomerleau with multiple stab wounds, the district attorney’s office said. He was taken to Morton Hospital where he was declared dead less than an hour later.

Police identified Horsman as the suspect after interviewing multiple witnesses, the district attorney’s office said. He was arrested close to the crime scene without incident and later charged with one count of murder.

Pomerleau was in a long-term relationship with Horsman’s mother, the district attorney’s office said. Horsman is set to be arraigned on the charge in Wareham District court on Monday.

No further information has been released.
