Mass. lottery player claims 1st $2 million prize in new $50 scratch ticket game

The first $2 million prize from a new $50 lottery game was claimed in Massachusetts on Wednesday.

The $2 million prize was from “$25,000,000 Mega Money,” a $50 scratch ticket game released on May 13. This is the first $2 million prize to be claimed in the game.

All three $25 million grand prizes remain to be claimed as of May 29, along with three $2 million and 12 $1 million prizes.

The winning $2 million ticket was sold in East Boston at East Boston Corner Market.

The new “$25,000,000 Mega Money“ game is the Massachusetts Lottery’s third installment of a $50 scratch ticket since its highly-successful “Billion Dollar Extravaganza” game released in 2023.

Additionally, someone claimed a $100,000 prize on Wednesday from a winning “Millions” ticket they bought at the Stop & Shop in Watertown.

Overall, at least 565 prizes worth $600 or more were won or claimed in Massachusetts on Wednesday, including 14 in Springfield, 12 in Worcester and 61 in Boston.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of winning tickets every day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

The two largest lottery prizes won so far in 2025 were each worth $15 million. One of the prizes was from a winning “Diamond Deluxe” scratch ticket sold in Holyoke, and the other was from a “300X” scratch ticket sold on Cape Cod.
