SPRINGFIELD — While the state plans to spend $5 million to provide legal aid for immigrants facing deportation, it continues to develop details on how that money will be distributed and who will be eligible to receive help.
The state set aside the money as part of its 2026 fiscal year budget, a move praised by immigrant rights groups in a statement last week.
