A man and a teenage girl are dead after a car was engulfed in flames along Route 20 in Weston, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office announced.
Weston police were notified after they received an automated 911 call from an Apple device’s automated crash detection from a car driven by a 20-year-old man, Ryan’s office said in a statement released Thursday.
Officers arrived to find the car on fire in the woods next to the eastbound side of Route 20, past Colpitts Road, Ryan’s office said. They tried to extinguish the fire but were unsuccessful. Firefighters arrived and were able to knock out the fire.
The driver and a 15-year-old girl were found dead inside the car, Ryan’s office said.
The car fire is remains under investigation, conducted by Ryan’s office, Weston police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section.
