Man suspected of killing 32-year-old in 2021 arrested

The man suspected of killing Fermin Baez in 2021 was arrested Monday.

Around 5 p.m., Boston police arrested Zykaris Hamilton, 19, of Mattapan, in the area of 450 Canterbury St. Police said he was wanted on warrants for murder and unlawful possession of a firearm issued out of Suffolk Superior Court in connection with the death of Baez, 32, of Dorchester. 

Baez was shot around 8:45 p.m. on June 7, 2021 near 1510 Tremont St. Officers said they found Baez with life threatening injuries and brought him to the hosptial. But he later died.

Hamilton is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court.
