Man sought in fatal shooting in Massachusetts now faces murder charge

A man sought by Worcester police for nearly a month in connection with the fatal shooting of Bob Nuah on Allendale Street in the city in April now faces a murder charge, police said.

Lino Menjivar, 30, of 23 Jefferson St. is wanted for murder, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, according to a wanted poster the department released Tuesday evening on X.

Menjivar’s last known location is in Virginia and police warned that Menjivar should be considered armed and dangerous, noting a gun used in the shooting has not been recovered.

He was described by police as 5 feet 5 inches with black hair, brown eyes and face tattoos.

Officers found Nuah unresponsive around 2:20 a.m. after they were called to Allendale Street by the city’s ShotSpotter system, which alerts police to sounds of gunfire, Worcester police said previously. They tried to aid him medically, but he was declared dead shortly after he arrived at a hospital.

Nuah was killed a short distance from his home, according to The Telegram & Gazette. He was well-known and loved in Worcester, his sisters told the newspaper. On Monday, there was a makeshift candle memorial for Nuah at Fuller Family Park.

Nuah was a 2018 graduate of Worcester’s Claremont Academy high school and was studying to become a dental assistant when he was killed, the Telegram & Gazette reported. He was also an active member of Greendale People’s Church in Worcester.

Nuah had five siblings, the newspaper reported. He leaves behind his mother, an older brother and younger twin brothers in addition to his sisters, cousin and other family and friends.

“Bob was a loving person, kind,” Princess Nuah told the Telegram & Gazette. “Knowing Bob is loving Bob,” Rita Nuah added.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to send an anonymous tip to Worcester police at 274637 or worcesterma.gov/police. You can also call Worcester police detectives at (508) 799-8651.

Nuah is one of several people who have been killed in Worcester since the beginning of the year. Sadrac Metellus was arrested for fatally stabbing a woman on Feb. 14 and was ordered held without bail the next day. On March 5, Chasity Nunez and her 11-year-old daughter Zella Nunez were killed in a shooting in the area of Englewood Avenue and Lisbon Street, with two men in custody. A 14-year-old, Sterling Baptiste Jr., was killed on April 26, with at least two other teenagers in custody.
