A man was fatally shot in Dorchester late Monday night, police said.
Boston police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 114 Devon St. at around 10:24 p.m. Monday, Sgt. Detective John Boyle, the department’s chief spokesman, said. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Boyle said.
An investigation into the shooting is “very active” as of Tuesday morning, Boyle said.
Devon Street backs up to the parking lot of the Lila Frederick School on Columbia Road.
No further information was immediately available Tuesday morning.
