Another year of The Big E means another year of the renowned classic pickle foods and drinks scattered throughout the fairgrounds.
The fair holds crazy dill bites, such as the pickle cupcake and weird sips like pickle juice in a cup.
While it seems that pickle items will never go out of style at The Big E, MassLive spent time at the fair rounding up all the pickle goodies you can buy.
Pickle Cupcake from LuAnn’s Bakery – New England Ave.
If you want to be adventurous, and mix dessert with dill, try the pickle cupcake from LuAnn’s.
The pickle cupcake is offered as gluten-free at The Big E this year, the bakery told MassLive. The standard pickle cupcake will also be offered for $8.
The cupcake is a traditional vanilla cupcake that has some bits of pickle at the base. It’s then topped with a cream cheese-dill frosting and a pickle on top.
Pickle fries from Deep Fried Pickles — East Road
These crispy bright green fries have salt and dill all wrapped in one bite.
The fries are seasoned with dill seasoning and are steeped in pickle juice before cooking to give it that green color. The item also comes with a side of ranch or buffalo sauce for a total of $13.
Pickle Juice from Veggie Patch – Commonwealth Ave.
Simply put, the drink is straight pickle juice that’s poured into a cup.
MassLive’s Nick O’Malley called it one of the “weirdest” things he tried at The Big E this year.
It only costs $3.
Pickle pizza from Angela’s Pizza — Commonwealth Ave.
The pickle pizza from Angela’s has been a popular item since it’s been at the fair.
The slice comes complete with white garlic sauce, ranch dressing and mozzarella cheese, topped with pickle chips. It costs $8.
‘Kind of a Big Dill’ crepe from Moeshmallow in the Massachusetts Building — Avenue of States
This crepe is filled with ham, cheese and a dill pickle marshmallow and can be found in the Massachusetts building
“I liked this better than I expected. I thought the dill pickle marshmallow tasted a lot like sweet scrambled eggs that happened to have some pickles thrown on there,” O’Malley also said when reviewing this item.
You can get this wacky concoction for $12.
Pickle lemonade from Poppies Concessions — Industrial & New England Ave.
At this vendor booth, guests will get 8 ounces of pickle lemonade, which is essentially just lemonade mixed with pickle juice.
It offers a sour, tart, and refreshing dilly taste for $6.
‘Get Dilly With It’ from Harpoon Beer Hall — New England Ave.
One unique styled pickle item is the “Get Dilly With It.” It’s a salted pretzel topped with salt, cheese, pickles, bacon and comes with ranch dipping sauce. It cost $13.
You can also get the pretzel in other flavors like pizza and hot popper
Pickle sour ale from the Connecticut building —Avenue of States
Feel like a pickly beer at The Big E? The one in the Connecticut building is going for $13. It’s a sour ale garnished with a pickle spear inside the cup.
Fried pickle spears at Dr. Vegetable – Springfield Road
This is a classic pickle choice for fairgoers. It’s where dill and fried food collide. Fairgoers can get seven fried pickle spears for $12 at Dr. Vegetable.
‘The Big P’ from the Vermont building — Avenue of States
The Vermont building has a few different quirky pickle offerings.
“The Big P” is a full pickle on a sword for shoppers. It sells for $5. If you want to kick it up a notch, you can order pickle juice shots at a deal of two for $5.
Lastly, you can buy a jar of dill with sauerkraut for $15.

Like Angela’s, this pizza joint is offering pickle pizza for customers. Only you can decide what tastes better.
This piece of pizza by the slice retails for $8.
Bacon-wrapped Dilly Dilly Dog from Giant Corn Dog Factory — West Road
The famous bacon-wrapped Dilly Dilly Dog is a true fair classic.
The Dilly Dilly Dog from Giant Corn Dog Factory is a large dill pickle cored, stuffed with a hot dog and, of course, deep-fried with bacon jammed into the hot dog. It goes for $15.
Connecticut Valley pickle juice sour ale from New England Craft Pub — Avenue of States
This beer is a concoction of the Connecticut Valley Brewing Company. It is a bold brew mixed with pickle juice.
The pickle juice comes from Rein’s Deli in Vernon, Connecticut, a New York-style joint outside Hartford. It cost $15.
Pickle Bloody Mary from New England Craft Pub — Avenue of States
You can also try the pickle beer above as bloody mary, both for $15.
The cocktail comes with vodka, tomato juice mix, topped with the Connecticut Valley pickle juice sour ale and a pickle spear.

Another classic batch of fried pickle spears for $12.
Whole pickles from Calabrese Market & Deli pickles — Commonwealth Ave.
This pickle barrel stand is serving up whole kosher dill and half sour pickles for $3.50 a pop.
