Love of learning motivates Constanza Bartholomae to help develop teachers

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, MassLive asked readers to identify people who are emerging Hispanic leaders throughout the state, working to make a difference in their own area of interest, be it politics, education, business or the arts.

These are people our readers have identified as inspirational, who may be doing good acts for their communities. They are being recognized for their accomplishments, leadership and commitment to inspire change.

Age: 31

Community: Worcester

Her story: Constanza Bartholomae loves to learn. A self-described “philomath,” she didn’t want to leave school even after completing her graduate degrees.

She now works in faculty development at Bryant University, helping educators create and strengthen their teaching strategies, design curriculum and learn more about teaching and learning. She especially loves learning about the different fields and subjects the faculty members teach.

Bartholomae also teaches Spanish as an adjunct faculty member at Worcester State University.

She said she loves every aspect of her job, finding it exciting to learn about the different fields and subject matters of her colleagues and rewarding to be able to see their growth and progress.

“Their desire to learn inspires me every day,” she said.

In her words: “If you are someone who loves to learn, don’t stop — find a hobby, audit a class, or interview someone who is in a field that you find to be interesting. Seek to grow and learn in these areas, as our own learning leads us to be better able to share our knowledge with others.”

Each day, we will introduce more leaders, and we’re always open to hear about more inspiring people. If you’d like to suggest someone else who should be recognized, please fill out this form.
