One dairy company has been raising money for charity for more than a decade and all it needs to succeed in Boston this year is 10,000 people interested in eating frozen yogurt.
The Moose Tracks’ 10,000 Scoop Challenge is bringing 10,000 scoops of free Kemps Moose Tracks Frozen Yogurt to City Hall Plaza from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
For each scoop served, Moose Tracks will donate $1 to The Salvation Army Boston South End Corps and The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) in hopes of raising $10,000 in just four hours.
Therefore the goal of the event is to get 10,000 attendees so Moose Tracks can reach its $10,000 donation goal.

The 10,000 Scoop Challenge has been a summer tradition since 2010, according to the event’s website. The traveling event has made stops in more than 50 cities and raised over $500,000 for local charities for more than a decade.
In addition to the Moose Tracks’ fudgy and peanut butter-y vanilla dessert, the Boston leg of the 10,000 Scoop Challenge will feature celebrity guest scoopers, Tracks (the Moose Tracks mascot), and representatives from The Salvation Army.
