EAST LONGMEADOW – Cynthia Normandin, now the former owner of The Apple Place in East Longmeadow, symbolically handed off a tie-dyed uniform shirt Wednesday to Anthony Maloni.
It was the first day of operations for Maloni and his brother, Dominic, who closed last week on the $1.5 million purchase of The Apple Place, its 13 acres of land, historic home, bakery, ice-cream shop and orchard of 1,800 blossoming apple trees.
