Longmeadow football falls behind early, drops home opener to Woburn

LONGMEADOW – Despite what read on the scoreboard at the end of the game, Longmeadow’s first-year head coach Shane Harrington said he saw signs that with this team, he might have a winner on his hands.

Trailing visiting Woburn (2-0) by 18 at halftime and by 25 early in the fourth quarter, the Lancers (0-1) clawed back to cut the deficit to 11 with just under 5 minutes remaining before ultimately falling 42-24 in their season opener.
