Live Wire: Elton John returns home after hospitalization

Elton John still has reason to sing his 1983 hit, “I’m Still Standing.”

The singer recently returned home after being hospitalized following a fall at his home in France. According to the BBC, John, 76, slipped at his home and was taken to Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco, where was treated for minor injuries and kept overnight for observation.

“Elton visited the local hospital as a precautionary measure,” a spokesperson for the singer said. “Following check-ups, he was immediately discharged this morning and is now back at home and in good health.”

In July, John had just finished up his lengthy “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour, which featured more than 300 concerts over the past five years. The tour made a two-night stop at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough last summer, bringing his total number of shows there to six. John, of course, has made numerous other appearances in Massachusetts, starting with three nights at the legendary Boston Tea Party venue in October of 1970.
