A 35-year-old Springfield man who prosecutors say orchestrated the thefts of hundreds of catalytic converters from across New England pleaded guilty to numerous criminal charges in federal court in Boston, acting U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Joshua S. Levy’s office announced Wednesday.
Rafael Davila pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to transport stolen property in interstate commerce, interstate transportation of stolen property, conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to commit bank theft, and bank theft, Levy’s office said in a statement.
Davila is the final person to plead guilty in the case, as his six other co-defendants have already done so. Three of the six have already been sentenced. Davila’s sentencing is set for July 30.
