LOS ANGELES — A Southern California man was arrested after Los Angeles police seized over $4 million worth of illegal narcotics during an undercover operation, KTLA reported.
The suspect was taken into custody on Oct. 16 following an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, according to the report.
The operation led officers to discover more than 50 pounds of powdered fentanyl and nearly nine pounds of black tar heroin. Additionally, police found $14,500 in cash.
Police noted that the amount of fentanyl seized could potentially be lethal to over 11 million people, assuming a 2 mg lethal dose, according to the report.
The suspect faces charges related to fentanyl sales, and the case remains under investigation. Police are encouraging anyone with further information to contact the LAPD’s Central Area Narcotics Enforcement Detail or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers, according to the report.
