WESTFIELD – Although the temperatures were cooler than they had been since the previous heat wave, Westfield came out scorching hot in its latest tournament game and it resulted in a championship celebration.
Westfield racked up 26 runs and starting pitcher Keegan Welch tossed his first career no-hitter to lead the Whip City’s 11-Year-Old All-Stars past Longmeadow 26-0 to win the District 2 championship in four innings Wednesday night at Ralph E. Sanville Memorial Field.
