WORCESTER – The Westfield Little League Softball 14U All-Stars traveled to Worcester for the state championship on Thursday evening, but stumbled upon a fireworks show.
Jesse Burkett swept the finals double header, defeating previously unbeaten Westfield 4-0 in the first game of the state finals and 10-0 in five innings in the night cap to capture the state title.
