CHICOPEE ― For a moment, it seemed like the No. 1 Agawam boys’ volleyball team was mere points from sweeping No. 4 West Springfield during Tuesday’s Division II state semifinals.
The Terriers said otherwise, though, as West Springfield earned an impressive 18-12 after a timeout halfway through the third set to snap the Brownies’ postseason scoreless streak. But the fun continued as Aleksandr Bak located a one-handed kill in the back left corner to force a deciding fifth set.
