Jim Montgomery waiting for updates on injured Bruins

Bruins coach Jim Montgomery didn’t have much in the way of diagnoses for his injured players after Tuesday’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Coyotes at Mullett Arena in Temple, Arizona.

Goalie Linus Ullmark left the game after lunging to play a shot in overtime. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner needed to be helped off the ice in what appeared to be considerable discomfort.

“It’s a lower-body (injury). I don’t know the extent of it,” Montgomery said. “I’ll know more tomorrow.”

The same was true for rookie center Matt Poitras, who left the game early in the third period.

“Upper body, I don’t know the extent,” Montgomery said.

The Bruins travel to Las Vegas on Wednesday and have no media availability so there’s likely to be no public updates until Thursday.

Jeremy Swayman gave up the winning goal on the first shot he faced after Ullmark left.

“It’s really difficult. You’ve been sitting there for two-and-a-ahlf hours and now you’ve got to go in,” Montgomery said. “Doesn’t matter who’s in there, that was a close-in shot. That’s a tough one to see.”

Hampus Lindholm was asked about his goalie and fellow Swede.

“He’s a fighter,” Lindholm said. “Hopefully, we’ll have him back here shortly.”
