CHESTNUT HILL — Turnovers on offense and explosive plays against the defense have had calamitous consequences for Boston College all season.

The Eagles were guilty of both football foibles in Saturday’s 45-13 blowout loss to Southern Methodist on a sun splashed autumn afternoon at Alumni Stadium. BC fell to 1-9 overall and 0-6 in the ACC with its ninth straight loss. The Eagles will play Georgia Tech in their final home game on Nov. 15.
