WALPOLE – The gymnasium inside Walpole High School had been raucous Friday night. That was until there were just five seconds left to go in the fourth quarter when all that could be heard was the sound of Bella Bingham’s heavy breaths as she stepped up to the free-throw line.
The No. 6 Walpole girls’ basketball team had held off Bay State Conference foe No. 2 Natick thus far. But with a thin three-point lead, the Timberwolves’ hopes rested in Bingham’s hands.
